West Coast Eagles vs Collingwood Finals

Hi Members

As the West Coast Eagles managed to “rather convincingly” win their semi-final match against Melbourne last Saturday, we have decided to have a little social get together this coming Saturday, 29th September to watch the Grand Final.  For those of you who are interested in joining us we thought if everyone brought a plate “of food” with them would be great.  What you bring is purely up to yourselves.

Also would be nice to see everyone dressed in either Black & White or Blue & Yellow to support either the Eagles or Collingwood.  Please note, so there is no confusion,  I am not trying to force anyone to support a team they wouldn’t normally support, however it is just a celebration of both these teams successfully getting to the Grand Final and also good sportsmanship.  I hope to see a few of you this coming Saturday.  Please be at the Club around 12PM so we don’t miss out on the start of the game.

Social Tennis will still be on from 2PM as usual.

Wednesday Men’s Doubles NDTA Champs!

I just want to congratulate our Wednesday Night Men’s NDTA pennant team for coming out on top in their Final against Wembley Downs. I remember vividly watching our guys play against the very same team last season and unfortunately losing to them in a super tie break. This year however was a totally different story! Both teams played exceptionally well and as a spectator it was a great match to watch.

I also just want to thank all the supporters who showed up last night, it just amazes me how great a club we have when it comes time to show our support for our players.

Well done to Ronnie (Captain), Ashley, Josh, Kieran and Rodney. It’ll be great to see another trophy at our Club.

Mike Roberts has been our Junior Manager and resident coach at the Wanneroo Club for many years.  He is  highly experienced and can coach players at all levels – from beginners through to competitive stages.  Mike organises both group and ‘one on one’ coaching depending on your requirements.  If you join the Wanneroo tennis Club, a free group lesson is included in your membership.  If you wish to have private lessons then these can be arranged at your leisure directly with Mike.

Mike has a tennis pro shop and can provide any tennis equipment you need to get started.  He has a great selection of tennis racquets, tennis bags, balls, magnetic wrist straps, tennis shoes, shirts, and other tennis equipment.  The shop also has a wide selection of trophies available, suitable for tennis and other sports.

Membership Fees Due

Hi Members

I just wanted to remind you all that memberships are due to be paid by Sunday, 30th September.  If payment has not been received by Monday, 1st October (unless otherwise organised through Molly our Treasurer) then you will be deemed a visitor and will need to pay the standard visitor fee of $10.00 until this is paid.

Also note that anybody who has not paid and has put their name down to play pennants you will not be able to play until membership has been paid.

If you have any questions or issues regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact Molly, myself or your Members’ Rep Jeff Yeung.  Our Juniors can speak with Mike Roberts if preferred.

Mixed Doubles Round Robin Tournament

Entries must be made on the official entry form provided and received by the Secretary before 5pm, Friday 5th October 2018

$30.00 PER PLAYER

  • This tournament is open to all members of tennis clubs affiliated with Tennis West
  • The Tournament Chairman and committee shall have the entire control and management of the Tournament
  • The Tournament Committee Referee will be the authority on any matters under dispute
  • The format will be a seeded ROUND ROBIN Doubles Tournament for mixed doubles
  • Playing surface is 8 synthetic grass courts plus 2 hard courts (if required)
  • Play will commence at 9.00 AM on Sunday 14th October 2018. Sets will be played
  • Competitors are requested to report in 30 minutes prior to commencement of
  • Lunch break from 12:30 PM onwards
  • Format will be dependent upon entry numbers and will be announced prior to commencement of start of play
  • Presentations will be made at the conclusion of play
  • In the event of any dispute, the Referee’s decision will be final
